konradc discovered 5 months ago- Size does matter! I wonder why WSJ is citing a res earch made in 2003 in 2008. From the page: "Their finding: People using the 24-inch screen completed the tasks 52% faster than people who used the 18-inch monitor; people who used the two 20-inch monitors were 44% faster than those with the 18-inch ones. There is an upper limit, however: Productivity dropped off again when people used a 26-inch screen."

- Newsflash: Monitor manufacturer funds study to prove that bigger monitor = better monitor. YAY. Basically, anything you want to prove can be proven by anyone with something to gain from proving it. All you gotta do is pay for the study and people will twist the numbers to give you the answer you're looking for.
While I can agree, a 20" monitor is better than a crappy 15" monitor, It's not really going to make me more productive except in cases where higher resolution and more screen real-estate makes a difference.
If my job was to move icons from one window to the next, I could either get a fucking huge monitor and open fucking huge windows, or I could use a command shell and just write a script. While the big monitor fuckos were doing things the hard way, I'd be enjoying a cup of coffee and a donut while my script did things for me the easy way.
Seriously. that's about the size of it. - Newsflash: Monitor manufacturer funds study to prove that bigger monitor = better monitor. YAY.
