Should a presidential candidate be held to the campaign-trail promises he made in a different campaign? Connecticut's own independent candidate Ralph Nader seems to think so.

Sen. John McCain, the chosen Republican in this year's race, apparently said in 2000 that he would have a press conference every week if he were elected president. And he also said he liked the British prime minister's practice of being grilled by members of Parliament each week -- the half-hour sessions shown on C-SPAN.

"People say that John McCain is a changed man," Nader said in the statement today. "That he has changed from a reformer to being a player. Well, I'd like to know, Sen. McCain - a weekly press conference when you become president? Question time? Give me a call."

HA! I love it ....
