From the page: "The Council for Secular Humanism is appalled by Davis's apparent belief that atheists and other nonreligious individuals are not entitled to the same rights and liberties as other citizens." Well, isn't it nice? Ugh, some people go way overboard with their religious views.

I genuinely wish there were more people like Davis. It'd make it that much easier to abolish religion once and for all.

I believe in an intelligent creator of life, but I think it threw a curve ball and created people like Monique Davis to keep the rest of us on our toes. I've met many atheists with better morals and values than many fundies of any religion. I don't want her God in my government. I don't want anyone's God in my government. I am not only in favor of separation of church and state, but separation of church and hate.

Rep. Monique Davis to atheist Rob Sherman: `It's dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists!' apparently atheism isn't treated with the same respect as a religion... no matter how unbelievable any given religion may seem to people who don't follow it. :-/

From the page: "Sherman didn't budge, continued his testimony related to Gov. Rod Blagojevich's oddly misdirected $1 million grant intended for Pilgrim Baptist Church, (story) and later told me he 'felt like Rosa Parks.' "(emphasis added)

With 'em up until that.

From the page. "Sherman didn't budge, continued his testimony..." This is the most important part of the article. Don't back don't from these ignoramuses. EVER! Also, I might note that Rep. Monique Davis is a Democrat. I only mention this because I think a hell of a lot of people out there so stubbornly stick to their party affiliation and its assumed infallability that most of you simply thought her to be a Republican. The Dems have just as many bible bashing knotheads as the Republicans. Well... maybe not as many but a hell of a lot. Don't drink the Kool-Aid, no matter who's serving it.
