So true! With Gmail you get really small weblinks to content that is connected to keywords in your e-mails. With Hotmail and Yahoo it's BIG images with weblinks to content that does *not* interest you in the least! I liked Gmail and Google from day one, because of the clean interface, and... more

From the page: "you wonâ€t be able to log-in with just username anymore but are required to enter the full username@gmail.com" This is exactly why I hate hotmail. Or whatever flashy name they're calling it now.

From the page: "What If Gmail Had Been Designed by Microsoft?"

As a long-time user of Hotmail, and now Gmail, I can really appreciate the humour in this article. The sad part is that it's so true!! I barely use my Hotmail accounts anymore because they're such a pain. I like the fact that Gmail has such a high storage and virtually no ads. Also, and this is the biggest thing, Gmail is WAY better for spam. I barely ever get any spam in my main folder. I just check my spam folder occasionally to make sure there's no good stuff in there. There is such a huge installed base of Hotmail users that I guess Microsoft figures 'why bother?'

Ha ha ha!!! I got this in Google Reader a long time ago, when it was first posted, and it's still hilarious. That just proves how good Philipp is with GIMP (or whatever he used to make those screenshots).

With Hotmail and Yahoo it's BIG images with weblinks to content that does *not* interest you in the least! I liked Gmail and Google from day one, because of the clean interface, and there's almost zero spam. Also, what many people don't know is when they use Google and/or Gmail, they actually use GNU/Linux. At the Google campus computers run a customised version of Ubuntu: Gobuntu. Microsoft should get worried...

If GMail had been designed by Microsoft... then it would be Hotmail.

Well done. From the comments, I guess some folks just didn't get it. BTW, I agree that it's more like Yahoo! than Microsoft...but they are twins separated at birth.
