Damascus swords -- sharp enough to slice a falling piece of silk in half, strong enough to split stones without dulling -- owe their legendary qualities to carbon nanotubes, says chemist and Nobel laureate Robert Curl.

India mastered use of nano technology 2000 years ago!?! very often thru our forefathers we had heard of highly advanced sate of science in India, always thought their words were mare flights of fantasy till the moment i read this. Now i i have faith in what they always said!

Cool sword. SuperBananna must be a metallurgist and an avid swordsman and swordsmith.

Damascus steel compares poorly versus even the cheapest kitchen knives; it was simply better than the crap that was coming out of most iron forges at the time. It's certainly not capable of slicing rocks in half without losing its edge. Christ, I bet you people think that samurais can slice tanks apart with their katanas, right? Fucking morons.
