- Why the hell is the Air Force in charge of this? Go bomb somebody you lazy bastards (I really am only joking, please don't eat me). Anyhoo, if this happens the world could quite possibly be screwed.

LivesInBlack rated 6 weeks ago- This is a bunch of bullshit, what happens when they turn it against American citizens? Will we all sit back with nothing to say about it? WTF happens when they use these tools to see what Joe Shmoe is downloading? It's bad enough we have to fight our ISPs for internet freedom, wait till its the government. Not to mention, this isn't just American computers, they're talking about -all- computers. What happens when the media(better yet the movie industry) uses its pull with the government to "Deceive, Deny, Disrupt, Degrade, and Destroy" torrent sites, all undetected. Not just to make this a rant about the future and possible end of p2p, this is just a bad idea, the possibilities are numerous. Fuck this, makes me want to move to Sealand (www.sealandgov.com).

smebro rated 6 weeks ago- Yeah thats the American Military mentality

invisableman rated 6 weeks ago- Air Force Aims for 'Full Control' of 'Any and All' Computers!

mhenriday rated 8 weeks ago- Surprise, surprise ! But naturally, since this initiative comes from the «good guys», our corporate media - and no few net pundits, who should know better - will either ignore it or represent it as a more-in-sorrow-than-in-anger response to those dastardly plots hatched by the Russians and Chinese, whom «everyone» realises constitute the greatest danger to net users. We seem to be professionals in discovering the mote in our neighbour's eye, while ignoring the beam in our own....

Site-Guy rated 8 weeks ago- This is very interesting and I am sure that Hollywood is going to love it!

anneliese rated 8 weeks ago- From the page: "The Air Force wants a suite of hacker tools, to give it "access" to -- and "full control" of -- any kind of computer there is. And once the info warriors are in, the Air Force wants them to keep tabs on their "adversaries' information infrastructure completely undetected." The government is growing increasingly interested in waging war online. The Air Force recently put together a "Cyberspace Command," with a charter to rule networks the way its fighter jets rule the skies. The Department of Homeland Security, Darpa, and other agencies are teaming up for a five-year, $30 billion "national cybersecurity initiative." That includes an electronic test range, where federally-funded hackers can test out the latest electronic attacks. "You used to need an army to wage a war," a recent Air Force commercial notes. "Now, all you need is an Internet connection.""
