The Jack PC, a rival to the smallest PC in the world, can hook up to a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and runs Windows CE, the stripped-down version of Windows often used in portable devices."

- I read this months ago, only it said it ran linux, what has changed? I was in the bank today and saw a cash machine with the lid up, being fixed. It had a windows licence sticker on it and the normal stuff (52x CD rom, floppy drive, ethernet cables) in a PC shaped/sized metal frame. I've seen the same machine getting "fixed" several times, and I doubt it was a hardware fault.

- Pretty pointless to mount what should be a handheld device in a wall permanently. But I do wish my pda had a few usb ports.

ferretsgames rated 13 months ago- A COMPUTER SO SMALL, IT FITS IN A WALL SOCKET U.K. firm Jade Integration has unveiled a computer so small, it fits into a wall socket and is powered via Ethernet. The Jack PC, a rival to the smallest PC in the world, can hook up to a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and runs Windows CE, the stripped-down version of Windows often used in portable devices. It comes with up to 64 MB of flash memory and 128 megs of RAM, so don't expect to play Half-Life 2 on it, but it should be able to handle basic Internet functions decently. There's no word on pricing yet, but the device gets its official release on June 15th at the IT Works Show in Newcastle. ................... OK, this was announced a year ago. Why haven't we seen any of them on sale?

talkingtent rated 13 months ago- Do you use a USB Mouse and Keyboard?

lcfr rated 13 months ago- This "news" is a year old

loves2travel rated 13 months ago- Scary thing is, it's 100X more powerful than the computer I used while studying for my undergrad degree in the early 80s
