Also, from the page: "Parents are sovereign individuals whose right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness includes the right to control their child's upbringing." No, no, no. Some parents would abuse this; by the arguments raised in the article, there is nothing wrong with a parent deciding that a child ought to be raised locked entirely in a cupboard and with no education at all. Of course the state has an interest in the welfare of children. A standard must be set, and adherence to it enforced. This article is idiotic.
