seriousliteheart rated 6 months ago- This guy needs to get re-instated in his job, with a full apology from the administration!

Faz465 rated 6 months ago- a government funded teacher shouldnt be making statements like that about religion on the job. if he was dismissed for urging kids to accept the adam and eve story you guys would probably applaud it.

Totentanz777 rated 9 months ago- From the page: "From my point of view, what they're doing is essentially teaching their students very well to function in the eighth century.""

droe82 rated 10 months ago- Anyone who believes in the separation of Church and State but that this teacher should be commended is a hypocrite.

Pigasus rated 10 months ago- From the page: "Steve Bitterman, a teacher at Southwestern Community College, Red Oak, Iowa, was fired after he urged his pupils not to take the story of Adam and Eve literally. Bitterman was teaching a western civilisation course and often used extracts from the Old Testament as part of his lessons, but urged students to look beyond a literal interpretation of what he views as an "extremely meaningful story", believing such a reading would miss much of the poetic, metaphoric and symbolic content. After class, he also made the mistake of referring to the story as a "fairy tale" during a conversation with a student." So could I invent an invisible 800 lb gorilla that will one day pick a winning powerball ticket for me and then get people fired for not believing in my gorilla?
