9 amazing and some amazingly expensive train journeys from around the world. The Orient Express is probably the most famous although the journey nowadays is not as long as it once once when it started from Istanbul and ended up in Paris.

It's only showing the upscale first class. I traveled from Istanbul to Munich down the back on the Orient Express. My views were the same, the accommodation was not.
