I get the feeling that this photo was taken with an anti-light-pollution agenda (for lack of a better word). Now, far be it from me to judge that. It's a valid point and someone needs to make it. That said, I've always been fascinated by the idea of light pollution on an aesthetic level and this photo captures exactly what I find so fascinating about it. Namely the way that mankind is slowly replacing the stars in the sky with the stars of the cities of earth. I may, in the end, prefer to look at real starlight, but I still must tip my hat to those who would dare to create something to compete with it. In the end, I think we need both city lights and star light, and correct me if I'm wrong, but there is room for both.
