From the page: "The Department of Health (DOH) today warned the public against eating fish and other seafood due to the presence of pesticide in the sunken M/V Princess of the Stars.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque said fish and other marine products harvested near the area of the sunken vessel are considered unfit for human consumption.
"Fish and marine life harvested from the area are now considered not fit for human consumption until complete tests indicate that there was no endosulfan contamination," Duque noted.
Duque explained that endosulfan is a restricted pesticide use in pineapple plantation that can cause death or affect central nervous system when consumed at toxic level.Endosulfan poisoning can initially trigger headache, dizziness, tremors, convulsion and even cardiovascular symptoms. Presence of the toxic substance can be determined through blood test."
