I will neither rate this up nor down, because I agree that he broke the law and should be punished accordingly but it is ridiculous that his position as an athlete makes any difference. A person's occupation has no bearing on their criminal status. If the NFL has a policy that no player can be convicted of a federal offense then he should be expeled from the league but otherwise it has no bearing on his employment. The fact that this is a national news issue is ridiculous and I am quite tired of it.

The NFL will most likely remain hands off because it's all about the dollar signs. The NFL and all the corporate owners could care less what Vick does with dogs or his sex life. However, if any of his actions create a negative image that is directly tied to a loss of revenue in his respective market, then you would see some corrective action, 10 game suspension max. Good luck with trying to ban him.

Hey who8myrice, nobody said that NFL players beating up their spouses for a good thing. But at the same time, just because one is punished doesn't mean the other shouldn't be. They are both bad things, and both should be punished.

To everyone who rated this down: You fools are saying because other people might be doing worst things we should let Vick get away with this? I laugh at your pitiful logic. Should we only prosecute people for murder?

"Oh that guy? He only ran a criminal syndicate in which they tortured animals and dropped them in electrocuted water. Why would we waste our time prosecuting him. There are murders happening somewhere!"

I disagree with the Italian-scallion comments. To be a professional athlete is a privilege, it is neither a right nor an entitlement, and he should pay for the crimes hi committed and pay his debt to society, after his rehabilitation he is entitled to rebuild his life, but not in professional sports. He should dedicate the rest of his life educating young athletes on making better decisions for themselves and their families, and like any other human being that gets a conviction on their record, the choices of employment are diminish. Good luck to Mr. Vick getting a regular job.
