This is a good beginner's guide to astrology, nicely presented
by a woman who knows the subject and communicates well.
If this subject interests you, the first and most important thing
to do is learn the stories and symbology of each planet and sign.
That's 22 basic archetypes you need to get a handle on
-- read as much as you can, in books or on the Net.
Secondly, you need to know the significance of the houses in the
horoscope, how to recognise what is prominent in an individual's
chart and how their ascendant might affect them.
It takes a while to get a feel for it but it is a whole
form of psychology which can help you understand
others as well as yourself.
Eg, I (an Aries) was in a relationship with a man
dominated by Libra when I first started studying. It used to drive
me nuts that he always looked to me to make the decisions, that
he always deferred to me.
Eventually I understood that he was who he was --
more "feminine" than me in some ways, and genuinely
companionable rather than competitive.
Knowing that made for less frustration and more understanding
-- though I later succumbed to a Sag/Scorpio man who was a lot sexier.
