Yeah... this is ridiculously stupid. >_< It would be better if there was a redundancy check. Like, plant a few links, and if they click on more than one, then maybe they're more likely to not be innocent.

The FBI using the child porn scare to boost their statistics. And victimize innocent people.

Our laws cannot logically accuse someone of "intent to". There can be no evidence of such. Intent is a purely private phenomenon, not available to anyone else. Lawyers: Get your logical act together.

The best thing to do would be to add one of these 'honey pot' links to SU, and let the whole world Stumble it. That would flood the FBI servers with useless IPs, making it impossible to use this kind of entrapment. Hey wait, isn't entrapment illegal? Oh well, everybody nowadays is way too fucking happy to give up their civil liberties and live in a fascist dictatorship, as long as we're thinking about the children.

protecting children is important but so is protecting our rights. You could be the next person to click an illegal link posted by somebody on the internet and end up in front of the court. Wait till they start spamming us with links in our email addresses.

I am totally in agreement with beverly1956 on this, We should hunt down and prosecute within the law any and all pedophiles. Children need to be protected by any means possible that does not jeopardize the rights and lives of innocent people. There has to be a better way to go about this. One that catches the criminal and can not be twisted to catch anyone but. I am a big believer that if anyone is proven to be a child predator they should be locked up indefinitely, (that would be the lesser of the things I would want to have done to them.) But I also understand that there are innocent lives that are destroyed all too often by mistakes in our justice system. This is the case with most crimes, I just hate to think of it as nothing more than a witch trial when it comes down to it. (with the exception that some are actually the real monsters and should be caught.) Scary thought though when you think on it. *Note to self do not click on any unknown links...

Entrapment, and a waste of time. Lock up the convicted scumbags and KEEP THEM LOCKED UP; that will serve as a much better deterrant than anything else they are doing.
