StumbleKKSS discovered 3 months ago- From the page: "A civil liberties group sued Wednesday in a challenge to the NYPD's practice of stopping hundreds of thousands of people each year for questioning, saying it is racially biased."

91KP rated 2 months ago- So are these people being stopped because they are black skinned or racially black, which is wrong in every way in a free society? Or because they are "black", as in culturally "black" - i.e. Snoop Doggy Dog, etc. There is a big difference. If you stop and frisk somebody because they are Arab, wrong. If you stop and frisk an Arab carrying a bomb and shouting "durka durka Mohammad jihad" that is a little bit different. In any case, why does race need to be brought into this at all. What is the implication? That it would be okay if the police force was just shaking down some stupid honkies as long as they don't inconvenience any minorities? Wrong is wrong, and when you have a case where an "unjust policy" can only be criticized by means of racism that probably means there is something else going on. As in most of the stops they make are more justified than not. Society has a right to protect itself as a whole. This would neccesarily include some preventative measures, like stopping the guy carrying a gun into the bank BEFORE he robs it. Or looking at a bunch of people throwing up gang signs and screaming they gonna kill you - and realize that they are bad. If your idea of fashion is to dress like a street thug expect to be treated like one. No one would dress up as a nazi because he liked the way the clothes fit and be surprised when people judged him. No one would dress in a kkk outfit because it was stylin' and be shocked that people thought he was racist. And yet when people dress "black" they expect to be taken as lawyer despite being dressed like a crack dealin cop killa.
