From the page: "We've entered the "Age of Electrical Outlets Having a Little Face and Different Sized Eyes." " A fascinating read. Remember, I'm a nerdy kind of girl, so I like this stuff. And the illustrations are cute ;-)

THANK YOU. This has been bothering me for about 6 years (when I started to really learn about electricity). If only I'd seen this about 4 years ago when it was written...

I was always told that the wide prong and the third prong did the same thing, and were invented at the same time and thus one never became ubiquitous (like DVD+R and DVD-R). Thanks to this article, I now know the truth.

I deal with low-power DC digital circuits all the time, but I didn't even know about this! Read it!

Very well done. I never really understood why the ground prong had to be there. I've just always sort of noticed that the bigger the thing is, the higher volts/amps it uses, the higher likelihood that it has the ground prong. I was wrong all along of course, but eh.

I really enjoyed this article that describes why our electrical grid is structured the way it is in laymans terms. Its very well written quite humorous. Excellent.

Fascinating, answer to a question I never though to ask.
