    Every time I log into my WordPress blog and check the comments I give thanks for the people who created Akismet. What a blessing. If you have a WP blog you REALLY need this plugin! It automatically identifies almost all of the SPAM and SPLOG comments that come into a WordPress blog and makes them fast and easy to review and delete. Any that get by it can be easily marked as SPAM, unapproved, or deleted. Those you mark as SPAM will then get caught if they hit you blog again (and they will). What a great time-saver - and it is highly accurate. From the page: "We can't stand spam. Who can? You have better things to do with your life than deal with the underbelly of the internet.     Akismet is a plugin which identifies and blocks comment and trackback spam on blogs. Akismet works with Movable Type,Lifetype, Drupal, Blojsom, Bloxsom,phpBB, PunBB, Geeklog, Serendipity, Coppermine, Nucleus, b2evolution, Express Engine, Simple Machine Forums, etc

    But if your host doesn't allow emails from the server, it won't work for you.

    This is a MUST for bloggers using WordPress or MovableType. Weed out the spammers, sportals and sploggers!

    a good spam filter mainly focusing bloggers to filter spam bots and spammers.

    This *is* a highly effective spam-trap, best I've seen. Forget word verification etc.
