"Sonnet for BurkinaLoveFaso" He knows the truth, declares it openly before His eyes. "It's thoughts," he says, "that are the enemies And thoughts that spin the winning remedies For now, always, ever and a day; the more The search for leaves of print and mantras soaked in peace And love, and marinated in the blessing of a sage The more the `carrot' seems to curry rage And disappear around the bend to please The teachers, preachers, those who `know' the age!" He bought the book, retired to read, and strove To keep the incense burning on the stove, Or is it called an altar, now, or is it time to turn the page? The longest way to truth is through the mind; From mind to heart's the bridge to what he wants to find. It would be tempting to comment on the general comments I have read on BurkinaLoveFaso's site; but I have no wish to bury the reader in prolixity. I am content to say that with a compassionate, dispassionate reading of what is posted on this gentle soul's site, one cannot but benefit. I admire the foundation of thought I've seen within his wisdom, warts and all! This is a sincere soul, in fact, an enormous soul, a soul with personal sovereignty, so far as I can see.
