I can't help but chuckle a bit at this. McDonald's lobbing insults at Starbucks is like Walmart taking shots at Saks Fifth Avenue. Totally different customer demographics. The people drinking medium iced coffees around a table in McDonald's are not in the same league as friends meeting up at Starbucks for a round of grande double-shot mochas while doing college homework or debating the viability of American consumerism.

During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama was right to call Hillary on her exaggerated claims (and a few outright lies) of foreign policy experience. In his words, her foreign policy experience was inadequate. Now that he is the President-Elect, he has appointed her to be the nation's top diplomat and has suggested that whatever he said during the campaign was, well, campaigning. What are we to believe? That he misled the American people on Hillary's experience during the campaign but that it was all fun and games? If so, what else did he mislead us about? Or, if what he said during the campaign was true, then why has he appointed her Secretary of State? These are legitimate questions for the press to ask yet Obama suggests that the press is trying to dig up some controversy instead of answering questions that demand an explanation.

It's great to (finally) see a journalist step up with an intelligent follow-up question and demand an explanation. So many times political candidates and/or their aides make vague claims and journalists fail to follow-up. Not so here. This was good fun to watch!

In 2002, General Motors fought hard against proposed federal legislation that would have required more fuel-efficient automobiles. The result? Foreign-owned auto companies went ahead and made fuel efficient vehicles while domestic manufacturers did their own thing. Now the Big 3 are swimming in the financial toilet and GM is pretty much demanding that taxpayers give it some federal welfare to help it finally get with the program.
