Lifta, a most picturesque Palestinian village, lies on the slopes of West Jerusalem below the highway linking it to Tel-Aviv. It has been abandoned since the invading Hagana underground forces backed by the Stern Gang drove the last of its Palestinian inhabitants in 1948 during the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
This petition aims to save Lifta through the World Monuments Fund , amongst others, and to draw attention to this site which has been threatened by neglect, vandalism and forced occupation by extremist settlers.

Very nice animation... But this idea that ebooks cannot come to life? Books come to life in your head, it all depends on how it's written. The media isn't the matter, the text is. Of course it can be a good feeling when you open a nicely crafted, leather bound book, but if the story stinks, then the quality of the paper or the type doesn't matter. Many of my best readings have been worn-out paperbacks on a bus, a train or a beach, and in such places, an ebook would do the trick as well. Not everybody can afford a private library with chesterfields and fireplace. :-)
