What would it mean if we promoted the survival of life in abundance and diversity?
A time line for the Earth seems to be finite but one for life in general would look different if we start bio-engineering life forms that can life on asteroid belts, or can survive interstellar travel.
We are the only species on this planet capable of promoting life off of it.
I am sick of environmentalists who think of Humans as a virus - learn to have a positive vision of Humanity - your not going to change anything through guilt and self hatred.

btw. For all you bible literalist fire and brimstone Christians out there (the suns expansion should give us a nice toasty end!). But seriously start thinking about what the bible teaches about economic systems and inequity. Jesus had a bit to say about it.
