"Psalms 31:9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Psalms 121:1 & 2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

1st Peter 4:12 & 13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Jeremiah29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Rest in Peace brother. Thanks for the great music. Your legacy will live on. No matter how hard the new rockers try, you the original was still the best. They just don't know Diddley.

    Shadows of Knight

This record was attached to some brand of potato chips that was distributed in the Chicago area but I have not been able to find out the name. This song and interview were not available in any other form to the public except through this flexi. This is an unusual example of two unlikely entities coming together to promote each other to sell their own product.

Medium paper with record embossed on the front. 33 1/3 rpm, 1966.

From the page: "Hasil "The Haze" Adkins wrote, performed and lived out his wild-ass rock & roll dreams with a sincere ferocity unmatched by fellow humans north or south. Rattling the walls of his Madison, West Virginia shack, Hasil would croon sweet odes to commodity meat and serenade the fickle moon above with his hot dog reverie. Early on, he'd mail out his home-recorded concoctions to the country music stars of the day, hoping to place a song or grab a plum spot on a traveling package show. Like the rest of the world, Nashville would have to wait a few decades to get hep to Hasil's chicken walk-inspired genius.

    The Bad Roads

Listen the Bad Roads Blue Girl, Till the End of the Day

One of Louisiana's most killer garage bands, the Bad Roads had the honor of being just about the most snarling unit ever to be released on the swamp pop-heavy Jin label. Jin prexy Floyd Soileau used to refer to them as his "English band" (!) In actuality, they hailed from the Lake Charles' area where they were constantly being hassled for their long hair and "bad" attitudes. For the full story on these legends, grab a hold of Andrew Brown's superb Brown Paper Sack fanzine, but only after you've dug their awesome "Too Bad" backed with "Blue Girl" which makes the scene on countless compilations, but is best heard on an EP released by Sundazed that includes their second single, a cover of the Kinks' "'Til The End Of the Day" recorded at J.D. Miller's!!"

By Pocholo Concepcion - Philippine Daily Inquirer - First Posted 00:19am (Mla time) 01/14/2008

MANILA, Philippines - Arnel Pineda's life as a rock singer has enough color and drama for a bio-pic.

It wouldn't be lacking in a soundtrack that would capture all the hardship, tears and laughter.

"I'm broke but I'm happy/ I'm poor but I'm kind "¦ "Alanis Morissette, "Hand in My Pocket"

In 1982, Arnel--new front man of the famous American band Journey and current toast of the town--was 15 years old, out of school and living a hand-to-mouth existence when he auditioned for a rock band upon a friend's prodding.

The band was Ijos, which regularly performed at Shakey's Ali Mall and New Frontier. For his audition piece, Arnel sang two songsā-The Beatles- 'Help'€¯ and Air Supply's "Making Love Out of Nothing At All."¯ Ijos' members were impressed with his voice but thought he lacked proper timing and would take long to learn.
    ......................
Arnel was no stranger to Journey. He had been covering its songs for years.

"I was blown away by their `Escape' album. Ganda talaga ng boses ni Steve Perry, hanep gumitara si Neal Schon at magaling mag- keyboards si Jonathan Cain. In the '90s I started noticing the great style of drummer Steve Smith. I've always had so much respect for the band--though I haven't heard new music from them in a long time."

Now Arnel will personally take part in the creation of the group's new music. The happy news was announced late last year, the conclusion of a fortuitous chain of events that began when Schon turned to YouTube to look for Journey's fifth singer.

    Like a fairy tale

"Nerve-wracking, tense, tapos star-struck pa" was how Arnel described his first day of auditions in Journey's warehouse-studio in San Francisco. "Kasi, wow, kaharap ko 'yung ina- idolize ko, tapos niyayakap nila `ko. Parang pumasok ako sa Disneyland for the first time, parang fairy tale. The band members said they needed new blood."

But he thought he blew it. "Si Jonathan (Cain) hindi masyadong solved sa pagkanta ko. So we all went to his home studio where they tested my voice again and we recorded the band's old hits."

It was Schon who was adamant in getting him. Arnel recounted, "He kept saying, `This is the guy. If we're not getting him, I'd rather form another band.'"

"Go ahead, go ahead and light up the town/ And baby, do everything your heart desires ... "--The Rolling Stones, "Time is on My Side"

Arnel said he felt sad for his local band, The Zoo. They had just recorded their debut album when Journey broke the news that he got the gig. "Parang ayoko nang tanggapin ang offer ng Journey. But my manager Bert de Leon advised me to take it. Also, I'm thinking I can always go back to The Zoo because I don't know how long Journey will keep me. I'm just being realistic. I feel young at 40; I think I can keep singing for the next 10 years. Kung uulitin ang buong buhay ko, gusto ko pa ring maging singer.""
