"Psalms 31:9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Psalms 121:1 & 2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

1st Peter 4:12 & 13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Jeremiah29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

From the page: "Zakaria rightly urges that the United States adopt a different course, but he fails to go far enough. He thinks that America should act in conjunction with other powers, rather than unilaterally respond to international crises; but why need we respond at all? A return to our traditional policy of nonintervention will keep us out of war much better than the multilateralism of which Zakaria is enamored."

    by Chuck Baldwin
    September 17, 2008

On this date in 1787, the U.S. Constitution was adopted. 39 delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies (Rhode Island did not send a representative) affixed their signatures to the greatest civil document ever conceived by men. Famous patriots such as George Washington, Roger Sherman, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, Gouverneur Morris, James Madison, George Clymer, and Abraham Baldwin were among this gallant group.

Under divine Providence, it has been allegiance to the Constitution that has preserved our liberties and protected our very way of life. Most of the problems, failings, and frustrations that plague our nation today are due to the propensity of our civil magistrates to ignore or blatantly abuse constitutional government. Accordingly, fidelity to the Constitution would likely repair most of the damage done by this neglect.

It is the responsibility of a free people to jealously guard the principles upon which their liberties are predicated. For citizens of these United States, the principles that duly protect our liberties are contained in the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every American to studiously familiarize himself with these documents.

Furthermore, it is the duty of every American to stubbornly hold their elected representative, at every level of government, accountable to his or her oath to the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution is the contract that every civil magistrate makes with "We the People." Failure of an elected representative to fulfill that oath to the Constitution should be met with swift and certain rejection by the people at the polls. Nothing else should matter. Republican or Democrat, man or woman, black or white, believer or unbeliever: it is the responsibility of every civil magistrate to submit to the restrictions and instructions of the Constitution.

Our Constitution (along with the Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence) was formed, framed, and founded upon the eternal principles contained in Natural Law, which proceeds forth from man's Creator and Redeemer. No people in human history have ever been so blessed as the people of the United States to inherit such a legacy. Such a heritage serves only to heighten our own responsibility, as "unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required."

On this Constitution Day of 2008, may this generation of Americans live up to its responsibility to valiantly bequeath to our posterity the same legacy of freedom that was so bravely and miraculously bequeathed to us. For the sake of freedom, for the love of our children, and for the safety and security of our republic, may each of us determine for ourselves--and commit to Almighty God--to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

From the page: "Duke rose to prominence as a states' rights guru, and his eventual immersion in the anti-government Patriot Movement left him positively swaggering in the spotlight of national notoriety.

Soon he was keynoting at citizen militia gatherings across the country, informing the crowds that the United States Constitution had been "suspended" by a treasonous government. After the Oklahoma City bombing, he stood on the steps of the state Capitol and suggested to a crowd of gun activists that the government had blown up its own building, killing 168 people.

Yet when the Freemen of Montana holed up on their compound, it was Duke whom the FBI flew in to help try to negotiate a standoff.

Duke's paranoia reached a zenith on April 27, 1997, when he reported to police that he believed then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former drug czar Bill Bennett had broken into his Monument townhome and stolen, among other things, his 1996 tax files and his lucky pocket knife. In addition, Duke accused U.S. West of tapping his phone.

    "The Constitution, she is a'burning"

Four months later, Duke reported that he had spent three days curled up in the fetal position under a friend's kitchen table, Bible in one hand and gun in the other, fasting and praying and drinking fruit juice. During that time, God told him to quit the Senate, which he did. El Paso County Republicans picked Doug Lamborn, then a state representative, to fill out the Senate term.
    ..........................
Duke's last reported public sighting was at the state Capitol in Denver, where he paid a visit to his successor. Duke told Lamborn that God wanted him to have his old Senate seat back.

Replied Lamborn: "Sorry, Charlie, God didn't tell me that.""

  • Is the Constitution Suspended?

    From the page: "
    Danger of Rumors

The rumor of a suspended Constitution represents only the latest in what has
become a labyrinth of false trails and dead-ends, all with the potential to
confuse and neutralize well-meaning conservatives. Mysterious executive orders
prohibiting food hoarding, undue concern about yellow fringes around the
American flag, and tales of Russian weather modification all damage the
credibility of otherwise effective conservative activists. But the rumor that
the Constitution has already been suspended delivers a double blow to the
conservative movement since it is not only patently false, but is infecting good
Americans with a sense of hopelessness. If the Constitution has been suspended,
then constituent pressure on congressmen is useless, all checks and balances
designed into our system of government no longer apply, and the government is
incapable of safeguarding our God-given rights.
Fortunately, as long as the Constitution still stands, any government action
that is based on extra-constitutional powers is ipso facto unconstitutional.
What America needs are congressional declarations that expose as nullities all
illegally usurped powers. In addition, the people must learn to resist the
distractions of the rumor mill and, instead, generate constant and informed
vigilance lest their freedoms disappear at the hands of those who always claim
that they mean to rule well, but who most of all mean always to rule.
