On the first day there was Evolectronica, then shortly after that, there was the need to have more people taking part, and so DarwinTunes was created in Evolectronica's image. We have 120 undergraduate students working head to head with the general public to evolve some crazy new music, and to answer the question "does culture evolve?"

Make music just by listening to it! All you have to do is make a few "I like it" or "I don't like it" ratings from time to time, and the rest is done for you an evolutionary algorithm. It's a community effort, so you can chat with others tuned into the live streams. On top of all that, you can download free MP3 or WAV loops (they make great ringtones) to use in your own music. Just check the Creative Commons licence in the footer.
