This is more prevalent than most realize and it's a direct result of making corporations 'human', that is giving them rights and personhood in the US. Healthcare debate is the current darling of the astroturf groups. Ignorance reigns where questions are few.

1971 Golda Meir passed a law in Israel that effectively 'wiped Palestine and Palestinians off the map'. Maps created in Israel do not show the green line or the Palestinian territories. To this day, Israel continues to deny the existence of the Palestinians as equals and continues to wipe the areas in which they live as well as most of the town names off the map.
Part of Israeli hasbara (propaganda) is that the Arab states, Persian states or Palestinians want to 'wipe them off the earth'. I challenge you to find that quote. It doesn't exist. The only one that exists involves Israeli leaders threatening to wipe the Palestinians off the map...which as I mentioned, they already did. Kudos to the multi-faith and human rights groups in the UK for rejecting Israeli propaganda and succeeding in its removal.

They really don't get it. The article he's referring to in the 'Hamas Charter' was written by a rogue member on his own initiative in 1988 and was soundly denounced by Hamas. The person was speaking for himself, not the organization. The actual charter of Hamas reads like the US Federalist Papers and no, they've never been about getting rid of Israel, just Zionism, which is racist as that movement considers faith first, then race, rather than humanity, to be the measure of a person's worth. To get rid of Israel would be against the religion and the only people who've 'wiped' anyone off the map is the Israelis. Golda Meir made it her mission in 1971 which is why Arab towns have been removed from most Israeli maps.
I agree, 8,000 is enough. What about the over 60,000 rounds, missiles and bombs Israel threw back at Gaza? Give me a break. The Palestinians aren't building walls on Israeli land. They haven't stole Israeli homes, businesses or passed laws that prevent Israelis from moving around, having equal rights or even owning property. The Palestinians don't man the checkpoints, have tanks, blockade the borders or arbitrarily arrest people, imprison Israeli children and worse. Israel's PR problem exists because of Israel's behavior, period. Very few people hate Israel or even Jews. What they hate is what Israel has done to Judaism and what Israel in the name of Judaism has done to them. No amount of slick PR can erase a lie or injustice. All it can do is postpone the inevitable: the end of Zionism and the beginning of new reality where in Israel all people are created and treated equally regardless of their race, religion or origin. The racists will leave when this happens and the good people on both sides will stay. I for one look forward to that day. It's been long enough.

This is from Time Magazine on the destruction in Gaza. The picture says it all. They used a patterned background on this which makes it hard to read, but worth your time. Hit 'View' Zoom a few times in your browser. Type is a bit small too.

I'm loving this journalist Jon Snow. Watch what happens when the speaker for Israeli spin gets cornered here. Now if Jon Snow had only been in the US to take on President Bush and the issues with 9/11, perhaps we wouldn't have started two wars and killed over a million people. What he's doing is exactly what a journalist is supposed to do.

British Television put together this 1/2 hour program on the difficulties of covering the massacre in Gaza which includes the efforts used to prevent international journalists from covering the story. You will find this very informative. But it is also graphic. The footage is uncensored. Do take the time to go through all 6-segments. You'll learn a lot about propaganda as well as see for yourself what the state of Israel does not want you to see...and why, in their own words, they don't want you to see it. The one thing I will say about the Israelis is that if you want to know how to do PR, they are far and above the best in the world. Zogby does a great job of disclosing the basics. This is why, if you live in the United States, most people think it's the Israelis who are the victims of the Palestinians rather than the fact which is the Palestinians have been at the mercy and in the gun sights of the Israelis since November 1947 when they began their ethnic cleansing campaign. Gaza today is the continuation of that original plan to take the land without the people.

Here's what Israeli foreign ministry's coordinator writes to his grassrooters about a meeting he attended at the government's official office:

    Hi all,

I had a meeting in the ministry of foreign affairs today, and was very happy to hear that their metrics show that Israel's position in the internet is getting better every day. It means that you're doing a good job! MFA are concerned with the biased public opinion in Europe. So please focus your efforts on European media.

What can you do to help?

    - Identify internet battle-grounds in different languages, and let me know
    - Comment/post/vote in the listed links and others; you can use the material attached below
    - Write letters to authors and editors. Identify yourself as a local resident
    - Have your friends join this activity

This message was meant to encourage the pro-Israel activists in their work:

World governments are still patient with Israel's justified operation in Gaza. The [sic] public opinion, on the other hand, is impatient, to say the least. This gap will soon close - it always does.

It is our goal to shift the public opinion, as conveyed in the internet; avoiding, or at least minimising, sanctions by world leaders. We need to buy the IDF enough time to achieve its goals.
