    Excerpt from this essay below
    Technocracy Is Opposed To:
Technocracy as a form of social control is opposed to waste, especially waste of non-replaceable energy and mineral supplies; it is opposed to the inefficient degradation of energy; it is opposed to shoddiness of manufacture; it is opposed to scarcity, especially planned scarcity; and it is opposed to opinionated tyrannies (such as fascism) as a means of social regulation. This is because the physical factors needed in the operation and continuance of a high-energy civilization on this Continent (or any other continent) would be seriously handicapped by the prevalence of any of these.

The resultants of Technocracy applied to the North American Continent would be: The production and distribution of all the goods and services that the entire population of the Continent would require. Reduction of human effort to the minimum that the effective operations of the Continent would permit. The maximization of both Continental and individual security. Obligation of every Citizen to contribute his pro rata share of time and effort in manning the operations of the Continent, which amount would be very meager, indeed, as compared to Price System expectations. The highest standard of health and education that it would be possible for a society to maintain.

The individual human being would derive a great deal more from the system than he or she would contribute to it. Hence, everyone would live on a heritage of unearned wealth, a circumstance which, today, is permitted to only a very few of `the best people.

'This is the only form of social control or government that legitimately can be called a `Technocracy.' There are no technocracies in the world today. All governments on the earth, now are Price System tyrannies, whether they are autocratic, fascistic, republican, socialistic, or a hybrid combination of two or more of these. The present governments of the United States and Canada are goulashes of all these elements.

Propagandists, whether in the economic, political, or religious fields, have had a long experience in, and have perfected various techniques for propagating deception. One of these techniques, as we have already indicated, is that of `association.'
The trick is to take something and attempt to influence opinion for or against it by associating it with something else regarding which either a favorable or unfavorable opinion has already been formed.'' end quote, Wilton Ivie.

Man-Hours and Distribution: M. King Hubbert Man-Hours and Distribution which was derived from an earlier article, Man-Hours A Declining Quanity in Technocracy, Series A, No. 8, August 1936.
These works along with the Technocracy Study Course also authored by Hubbert formed much of the basis of energy accounting and biophysical economics models. This also formed aspects of 'natural capital' a concept used in 'systems ecology' and 'industrial ecology'. Hubbert along with Frederick Soddy and Alfred Lotka among others formed the original basis of the ideas of and energy based economy and the basis of most of the ideas connected later in 'thermoeconomics' in regard to energy accounting, a concept first lain out in the Technocracy Study Course.

This forum site is a discussion of basic Technocracy technate design concepts from the Technocracy Study Course.
People wishing to interact with others as to asking questions or posting information on the subjects of 'energy accounting', 'energy economics', the 'technate design' and other things connected to the information from the Technical Alliance and Technocracy Incorporated can interconnect here or look at file information and links.
This site examines energy economics as related by the Technical Alliance and how that information eventually became well known in the last couple of decades by those scientists and energy economists interested in Thermoeconomics... known also as Biophysical economics. These ideas are now mainstream and peer reviewed in multiple places and have been the basis of much of the discipline known as Ecological economics which is an attempt to use things like 'natural capital' in contrast to monetary economics. Two social movements are compared in this thread. Though there is some commonality as to the subject of energy economics that both discuss, both groups take a different approach in regard to a resource based economy.

A proposition of combining Technocracy technate design with Venus project. J. Fresco got his information about a resource based economy from Howard Scott and the Technical Alliance which became Technocracy Incorporated. Fresco used that as his intellectual jumping off point. It would appear that the two groups are very different though in approach. This thread explores some differences.

    M. King Hubbert. Marion King Hubbert (October 5, 1903 - October 11, 1989) was a geoscientist who worked at the Shell research lab in Houston, Texas. He made several important contributions to geology, geophysics, and petroleum geology, most notably the Hubbert curve and Hubbert peak theory (a basic component of Peak oil). He was often referred to as "M. King Hubbert".
Hubbert was also an avid Technocrat. He co-founded Technocracy Incorporated with Howard Scott and contributed significantly to the Technocracy Study Course, the precedent document of that group which advocates a Non-market economics form of Energy Accounting, as opposed to the current Price System method. Hubbert was a member of the Board of Governors of TechInc, and served as Secretary of education to that organisation.

This web page links to a main page Technocracy discussion forum technocracy-technate.co.cc/forum/ [technocracy-technate.co.cc/forum/] What is Technocracy?
The North American continent with its vast resource base can constitute a `high tech society' of continental dimension, one in which the operation of our society is dependent on a vast array of installed technology and a high rate of energy conversion to run it. It is a continent-wide structure, a high energy `machine', providing the means whereby we live. It is manned by an `army' of engineers, scientists, technicians and operators of many kinds, without which it would not continue.

Any serious interruption of this high-energy, high-velocity structure and its staff, which are our life support, would quickly result in massive loss of life and a collapse of our industrial society. The instabilities now developing in the financial structure plus the twin crises of Peak Oil and Global Warming threaten just such interruptions. With Peak Oil, (peak energy) and the Global Warming crisis now developing, it is becoming ever more apparent that our present form of economy and our present form of governance are structurally incapable of taking effective action. A new administration, a ` Plan B', is called for by an ever increasing and vocal group of writers, scientists, legislators, and ordinary citizens. Technocracy, we submit, is that `Plan B,' enabling a continuance of the technology, with its operating staff, that will ensure our survival. Here then is the `raison d'etre' for Technocracy, the `Core Concept' that defines it.
