NUTSHELL
I write fiction/poetry/erotica, sing well, record voiceover, go clubbing, play video games (pc, ps2, rpgs), love to travel, read, indulge in spas. I've lived in Singapore, Korea, Guam, and California. I'm half Filipino, half black, funny and charming, crude and enlightened. I'm demanding, but good for you.
The internet is a fabulous thing, and allows random and interesting connections. I'm open to meeting people, but please don't approach me as a sex toy or I'll electrocute you. I really mean that, by the way. :)

Each dish featured with great digipics of presentation (to help you imagine what it will taste like and recognize what the heck the writer is talking about). Very smart - how many times have you read a restaurant review that throws out a dish, and you a) can't find it or describe it again and don't carry articles with you and b) they don't even serve it any more (seasonal, etc.), or c) once you order it you realize it's not even your cup of tea and it SOUNDED so good but geee, if only you'd known what it LOOKED/smelled like ...?

Yeah. This should help. Well, only if you live in San Francisco but hopefully they'll branch out and get writers featuring food all over the world. :)

Lordy lord, there's nothing like a fitted, tailored sheathe for the feminine frame, and the 1930s-1960s sure got those suckers right! While I'm not personally into rockabilly or specifically into vintage dressing, a fabulous cut is a fabulous cut godd*mnit, and there be some hot cuts here. They also, thankfully, have some plus size options (the more fitted styles tend to max out at XL, but some of their A-lines and fuller-skirted dresses go up to 3X).

This is very useful and doesn't even force you to pay attention to what your own time zone is */- someone else's GMT difference. Based on your IP (probably) they give you the immediate time over there. Very handy for places like Asia, which start getting tricky with losses and additions of entire days.

  • Woot® : One Day, One Deal™

    Rated Nov 14 2006 298 reviews bargains, sales woot.com

Hotness! This wholesale dealer bulks up on products, sells only one all day, and keeps surviving out of pure pinache. The reality in the internet age is the freedom of choice, AKA, users set demands and go where they have the options to buy what they want how they want it. Thus, the age of user disloyality - we go where the deals, ratings, and websites are good. Woot tells you what they have and what you'll get, and doesn't care if you like them or not (I think), telling you to choose to ditch or buy.

The only reason they get away with it is because of their stellar - and I mean stellar - website writing, quirky little podcasts, and intensely bonded wooter community - people who observe the site and its sales as if it were football season and they're gambling on fantasy leagues and the Superbowl to come. The writing in and of itself kept me reading through the whole site for hours, which is a testament to the quality of the site's personality. It's written with total irreverence, clever and funny, wry and witty, and pokes fun at it's own products, staff, and yes, even you, the customer (potential or not, they don't care). I literally read every entry in their FAQ, about pages, etc., just because their words tasted so good. Yes, this is how I show my literary geekdom.

Their following probably rivals that of Trekkies and Star Wars geeks, in a tiny microcosm of the internet world called e-commerce. They'll even buy stuff they don't want just to get the next product in the chain (during a wootoff.)
So go ahead and do irregular drivebys for the sheer pleasure of reading their product descriptions, or succumb to their religion of Wooterdom and board barnacling ... You may not want to actually BUY anything, but it's still a cool site with a great culture all its own. To learn more about this strange society, check out their wikipedia entry.

End world hunger by 2015, pressuring political accountability in the US. The cause, mission, and idealogoy are good. Will they succeed, who knows? But I did make a donation. :)
