Planetsaver Hero of the Day: Turns down $5,000,000,000...
Rated Aug 14 2007 • 24 reviews • environment, news • planetsave.com

From the page: Jeffrey Lee is not interested in becoming one of the world's richest men by selling the uranium (worth $5 billion!) in Kakadu National Park. The shy 36-year-old sole member of the Djok clan and the senior custodian of the Koongarra uranium deposit, has decided never to allow the ecologically sensitive land to be mined.
"There are sacred sites, there are burial sites and there are other special places out there which are my responsibility to look after," Mr Lee told the Herald.
Everyone would like to say they would do the same, but would they really? Would I really? It is hard to say. I would like to think I would. He is really a hero for the environment and I applaud him. I think he is one of the few people of the world who TRULY understands the post below.
