actually no-one I know is a person from Uruguay

There are people in the world who would not mind winning a lot of money at Texas Hold'em with a marked deck. If you are one of those people, we will not get along.

I will probably continue using stumble from time to time, but I think I'll pass on putting any sort of effort into the reviews.

If any of y'all are actually interested in my particular flavour of ranting, an URL will be available on request.

Yes, that is correct, I am becoming a blogger.

On (or around, I don't even know) the 14th of October 2009, hazelfo was put "under review" for several posts where she basically handed Innomen's ass to him on a platter for making baseless, completely loony claims about breast cancer. This was done in an even-handed, respectful (if mocking) manner, even though Innomen, narcissistic misogynist that he is, did nothing to deserve such treatment. At the time of this writing, Innomen's posts on the same subject are still up and he has not been subject to any visible restrictions.

I'm sure the ban will be lifted promptly, because no sane and reasonable community would maintain such blatant double standards, and if it did, nobody could possibly blame its most valuable and intelligent members of picking up their toys and finding a better sandbox.

I'll put a better review here when this lunacy is resolved, because damn, does hazelfo ever deserve one.

EDIT: hazelfo is permabanned, and I see very little reason in continuing to use a service which employs such ridiculous "moderation" practices. Social media indeed.

Awww, look at the cute American learning about another culture for the first time and making sweeping categorical pronouncements based on limited personal experience! So precious!

    What the fuck, man?

Skeptical Christian is not skeptical. Or, if you want to be nitpicky about it, s/he leaves numerous points unexamined and makes rather glaring mistakes in many arguments.

The easy thing to do at this point would be to conclude, oh, that's just how them religious folks are. But I think it's something different; the site's actually a valuable comment on how many people who claim to be "skeptical", theists and atheists alike, are anything but when it comes to certain deeply held, culturally reinforced beliefs. Don't hate on this person; s/he and you (and me, definitely) are probably more alike than we'd care to admit.

Oh wow, this comic actually fails at being Cyanide & Happiness. I think that's some sort of new artistic low for humanity.

So much more lovely now that I've read Booker T. Washington's Up From Slavery, where he is like, "As a rule, not only did the members of my race entertain no feelings of bitterness against the whites before the war, but there are many instances of Negroes tenderly caring for their former masters and mistresses who for some reason have become poor and dependent since the war."

People still believe that shit, incidentally.
