I've not been that interested in the use of fractals in the practice of art. Perhaps I am overly familiar with their limitations from using them in CGI texturing. It seems the patterning you get comes from the math and not from your own imagination. This page, however, is worth checking out. This is an idealized raytraced image of reflective spheres. I may have to set up a Maya scene and try it myself.
