If you haven't stopped by the Horrornews.net to check out there variety of content, you might want to pay them a visit.
Originated by the owner who simply refers to himself as "Bone Digger", HN has attracted the talents of over 20 top horror writers within the last month alone. Started as simply a small news site, the site has grown in numbers featuring just about everything they could think of to squeeze into 1 site.
Cites Bone Digger: "It began as providing a place where folks could easily get to information such as trailers, new releases, lists, reviews, horror art and related. Though, as more interest came in we decided to spin a magazine approach to it by weekly columns that cover all aspects of horror. So far its taken off in spades. The increase in video hosting sites has given us the ability to stream content in conveniently so fans can find them a bit faster."
"We have regular columns that go over vintage horror, supernatural real world phenomena, Asian Horror, Event and daily news coverage, cult films, FX in Horror, franchise-driven columns and even a column dedicated to the real bizarre horrific things that go on in the world today. Add to that a flourishing section called "Vamps" which gives the ladies on horror a place to show off a bit."
"Recently, we added a daily clip of the day section, regular interviews, book reviews and a few more ideas in the works that will appear in the months ahead."
"To summarize, Horrornews.net is a just a convenient place for horror fans, filmmakers, horror , artists, marketers, publishers and film companies to gather, peruse and announce what's going on in the genre."
"In simplicity, I put together everything I'd "like" to see in a horror site and provided a more universal place for all types to contribute to and announce there projects. The site has grown and changed several times to compansate for all these needs."
Upon further investigation I asked what they'd like to see from its viewers to help the site grow?
"Well for one, just stop by read, comment, email us on content you find, or email one of our columnists. For professionals, send us your press releases. Publishers, we have book reviewers on staff, so take advantage of the promotional aspects. Filmmakers,- of course send you screeners and we'll review it and announce it to the world. Promoters, send everything! - your press, your talent to interview...whatever it takes to get the message to our readers. That's what we're here for!"
Anything to add about your team?
These guys and gals are all true horror fans and show there dedication in there writing. They love to receive comments to convey how there doing and suggestions as well. Add to that, the fact that many are professional scholars, writers, film-makers, professionals and working "in" horror and you've got a team who are no rookies to the genre. So we're proud to say we have a strong team backing the goods!
"Oh, and let's not forget that we also have weekly giveaways on stuff sent in from promoters, , which a few I'd like for myself even ;)
Quick word?
"Yes, be good or I'll eat your bones!"
Well the site, certainly does run the gamut..so give yourself some time to enjoy all they have to offer. The inclusion of horror items that don't all reflect on fiction is something new that sites of this nature haven't really pursued under one roof. Even if your bag is not film horror, There's plenty of great stuff and coverage on the supernatural and world strangeness that will fill your interest. We look forward to seeing what demons leak out of Bone diggers mind and team and how they transform onto the pages of Horrornews.net If you haven't guessed already...the site is located at horrornews.net [horrornews.net]
I for one am excited to see efforts still being pushed forward even in these crucial times of economic depression.
