Oh what a nice way to claim the guy is sweet and not Lazy. He plans in advance so she won't bitch.
Get it.
If your guy plans in years in advance it isn't romantic.
Likely, this is some guys excuse when his girl found out that he just gave a florist money so he is never accused of forgetting. He came up with a phony story hoping she find it believable.

Ok, I chatted with some teachers I know. Teachers I assume care about students and are involved in life.
Yeah, they read the article. Yeah, They are concerned. Then, they tell me but it won't happen.
Why because they don't like the thought? Because if all of them are so willing to sit back and wait for someone else to take action?!
When will they decide they need to get involved? When the kids actually get banned? When do people get involved?
These are the same teachers who I hear complain that not enough parents get involved. That the parent doesn't care until the end of the year when the student fails to pass to the next grade.
