Rene Caisse, "Canada's Cancer Nurse," received the formula for Essiac tea from a fully-recovered breast cancer patient, who had gotten it from a native of the Ojibway tribe.
Nurse Caisse went on to open a free clinic, the Bracebridge Clinic, for which her lease payment, as stipulated by the Bracebridge Town Council, was $1 a month. She worked there from 1934 to 1942.
Many "Essiac teas" are on the market today, but it is unregulated, since it is an herbal formula. Which one to buy? Could it possibly work?
