I think the true facts are that Santa Claus has used his huge toy bag to crush the child's Imaginary friend Jesus.
The Pope made the western church celebrate this god's birthday by taking the Roman Saturnalia holiday and making it Jesus birthday. The Eastern Church which still follows the original creed still celebrates on January 6th on Epiphany.
