I love being silly and sarcastic. I try not to take life too seriously anymore and try to stay stress free. I love making new friends and consider myself a good friend to have.
So thanks for stopping by..now get the EFF out! :P Just kidding, Feel free to add me as a fan/friend. :) |

- Another bump in the road of life cleared. I survived open heart surgery. I had a ruptured valve causing regurgitation. The valve repair was successful which means no messing around with another surgery 10-15yrs later if I chose the tissue valve or messing around with weekly blood tests and coumadin if I chose mechanical for a replacement. I spent 5 days in the hospital and came home Tuesday night. Recovery is going well, I was able to walk a mile today, I can't wait till I can get back to walking my usual 4 miles. The hardest part is not being able to do much around the house since i'm use to being the one doing everything. I did however do vacuuming, mopping and cleaned the bathrooms today, even though the husband grumbled about it. Oh and I made brownies for the kids. It felt good being useful again even though I am not suppose to do that kind of stuff for another week. That's ok, it will just make me stronger and make my recovery faster as long as I listen to my body and know my limits.

- Still cancer free after 5 yrs :) Catscan showed no changes in lymphatic activity from last years scan.
Did show minor degenerative disease of the skeleton. Will be talking to my regular doctor about that tomorrow when I go for a blood draw to check thyroid level. Oh the fun of post-cancer but i'll take it over the alternative :)

- Silence is no longer my friend. Silence now makes me think of my brother, Vinny. It was a week ago today when I received the call that my younger(31) brother died, drove to Queens and watched him being rolled out in a black bag. It was awful. I have now accepted his passing but still it still seems like a dream that I won't be waking from. I have been told that time heals, I sure hope so. I'm fine if i'm busy but once my head hits the pillow, the silence makes it hard to keep my thoughts at bay. I guess it's a good thing that he is the last thought I have of the night and the first of my day. I miss him. I want the silence to be my friend once again.
