... A particularly relevant parallel to the Nazi holocaust is the Ukrainian holodomor of 1932-33, a state-created famine -- not a crop failure -- that killed an estimated five million people in the Ukraine, one million in the Caucasus, and one million elsewhere after the Soviet state confiscated the harvest at gunpoint. Throughout the famine, the state continued to export grain to pay for industrialization ... Some Ukrainian accounts, and that of Muggeridge, who covered the holodomor for the Manchester Guardian, take the trouble to say that this mass starvation was imposed largely by Jews. Lazar M. Kaganovich is often identified as an architect of the policy.

- Few people know that Israel is the only state to be given a conditional admission. Under General Assembly Resolution 273, Israel was admitted on the condition that it grant all Palestinians the right to return to their homes and receive compensation for lost or damaged property, according to General Assembly Resolution 194, paragraph 11.

Getting on for 100 phone calls last night about our interview with Mark Regev, the Israeli Government spokesman.
This after the United Nations had accused Israeli forces of "negligence and recklessness" in their attacks on UN compounds in Gaza during the January assault.
Reasonably evenly balanced between those who thought it was too hard and those who thought it about right.
It's always difficult interviewing well-trained government voices. Mr Regev is more accomplished than most.
But here it is anyway.

Apparently, Hezbollah used 4 different types of drone against Israel (you can be sure that will be getting a mention above)
Unmanned slaughter â€" already three incidents where we thought we had bin Laden but turned out not to be the case.

- Israel’s perverting of international law · Apr 2, 1:45pm
- George Bisharat shows how Israel constantly tries to transform international law through violations, which if successful would encourage occupiers to follow its lead, externalizing military control while shedding all responsibilities to occupied populations.

- Afghanistan: US, NATO wage World's Largest, Longest War
by Rick Rozoff
(Wednesday, March 25, 2009)
"Afghanistan has become a permanent training ground and firing range for providing the US and its NATO allies and candidate members opportunities to test out new weapons systems, wage 21st Century counterinsurgency operations and integrate so-called niche deployment military units from over 42 nations to achieve weapons and warfighting interoperability."
