Thanks to Eli Painted Crow and Turtle Women Rising for bringing Kaya to Washington, DC to share her heartbeat with everyone. Thanks to the Red-tailed Hawk for blessing us with your presence during the Prayer Vigil For The Earth while Kaya's heartbeat spoke, voices sang, and peaceful ones danced.
May I never forget that moment as we watched you soar among us upon outstretched wings.
"Each October, Taylor Behl turns a year older on her MySpace page, but not in life.
If you look closely, you see that Behl last logged on to her page on Sept. 4, 2005. Behl, 17, was last seen on surveillance video at her Virginia Commonwealth University dormitory the next night, leaving with 38-year-old Benjamin Fawley.
Less than a year later, Fawley was convicted of Behl's murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Police Internet experts say Fawley used sites such as MySpace and LiveJournal to study Behl and come closer to her."
"The security of Myspace is an utter joke.
Parents have to be the real security team to protect their children. Parents have to be parents and actually take some time to monitor what their kids are doing online. If your "child" won't give you access to their site, then take their access to the computer.
