I have long since given up growing my own tomatoes. The first time I discovered the little white bugs all over them, I decided to let others figure out the growing part. After all, someone has to enjoy and truly appreciate the mounds of delicious homegrown tomatoes that one grows! When I go to the grocery store, I see the varieties and I don't know the difference between them. When someone gives me tomatoes from their bounty, I don't know the names - just the look of them. There is so much more to a tomato than meets the eye! Today, for instance, I bit into a small round Campari tomato and it was delicious! So sweet and juicy!. I like the size - not too small, but a nice mouthful that I can pop into my mouth. It brings me back to my childhood days, when my Dad - the gardener in our family - brought in the baskets of cherry tomatoes, warm from the summer sun. That was my snack in those days. Mmmm - that tantalizing, flavor. I was allowed to eat them whenever I wanted. Since I have grown up, I don't often find that same strong tomato flavor. Today, when I bit into that Campari tomato and was brought back to my childhood, I decided I would explore the world of tomatoes to discover more.
