I just wonder why they need this much power for a train (groan)
Interesting concept. Who has actually gone through this and I am thinking that doing 20 pull ups is pretty darned good. What would 98 feel like?
I liked this site because it broke down the BASIC exercises with animated gifs. Be careful when looking at websites that tell you how to do something without details on what to avoid. Look at benching: there are different schools on how to bench properly. One will blow out your rotators; the other will not. For me, imho, I would follow the advice of the guys that do things professionally as opposed to a personal trainer who has only been in their body and degree a few years.
I liked this article in that it addresses an "education bubble" that had always left me wondering when it would burst. Given the recent poor employment stats and horrible economy most of my friends have flocked back to school for MA's, MBA's and doctoral programs.
There is a difference between schools offering these programs. Anyone who thinks MA's and MBA's are true value-adds to their careers (measured in dollars, not richness of experience) is most likely going to be left disappointed.
I have some graduate training but never thought an advanced degree in the social sciences (my case, anthropology) would translated to higher pay. The article's title addresses the worth of the Master's Degree: I think it's worth is more intangible / experiential than something that will translate to more money.
The responses to the panel was the most enjoyable. Some recently awarded MA's and PhD's who posted seem very disappointed. My thoughts on graduate school is you get out what you put into it (wow, just like any ol' job).
I didn't know American Conservatives were called "Russians" now? Wow.
Wow, you are so polemical...and edgy! These kind of simplified cartoons will totally lead to mature dialog.
IMHO, putting 'lists' on Wikipedia is ridiculous. I am not a fan of 'lists' on the web, as most of them are on content-poor blogs that are attempting to generate AdRevenue (ghost blogs with AdSense accounts, put on Stumble, etc.). I say down with lists, especially given a lot of people look to Wikipedia as they would Encyclopedias..
Just about every band on here is good..yet none come to Phoenix, Flagstaff or Tucson.
Some of the comments below are incredibly callous. While some may be against the president, the war, poorly made patriotic t-shirts, you have to wonder what is going through this person's mind as he (a poorly burned soldier, presumably from combat in Afghanistan or Iraq) meets the Commander in Chief..
Not awesome.. In a tactical situation, I'm sure soldiers are going to want to hear a constant "chainsaw" sound as they go through the jungle. All I could think of is why can't soldiers carry their own gear OR aren't mules and/or dogs a lot cheaper??
I just say this because it is probably our taxes at work..
Yet another blog with AdSense'ed sidebars with a "list"...
If I see one more 'blog' of a list of 8 to 10 this or thats I am going to explode. Seriously, I have seen these list blogs complete with adsense ads over and over on SU...needs...to...stop!
Not-so-right. While it is important to be critical of Obama as he wants to step into our nation's highest office, let's be anti-both parties until one of them can prove that they are not the same.
Quoting John Bolton?? Here's what one of the blogs says:
"Bolton argued Obama holds a "broad conviction" that "everything can be negotiated and can be solved through negotiations."
"He has a faith in the negotiation process as matter that drives policy and not as one aspect of policy only when negotiations make sense," Bolton told WND."
A politician acting like a statesman who favors negotiations?
This is decent advice and we did these types of exercises in a basic linguistics class. It helps to hear the words as well and in an hour your vocabulary is going to be limited but you would probably have basic syntax down...but would probably be ill-prepared to have any deep philosophical or theoretical conversations..
For brevity's sake, he should just make a language key for travelers:
Where's the bathroom?
Do you have change?
In general I enjoy reading Tim's page. Huckster or not, he seems to be a pretty happy, actualized guy.
Big in PDX, Bigger in France
It says Unseen? He could probably run again and win with a video like this one.
Farenheit 911, Roger & Me, unfortunately Moore is always right and gets his chance to gloat a bit on CNN. You know you are in for a good ass chewing when he states "I don't talk in sound bites." Good view.
Any graduate student in the social sciences could identify with what Sagan is saying here.
Is this to educate people or to promote its use? The 'funky' tone of it and everything in a pink wash, you have to wonder.
