Rod is a 55 year old guy from Vancouver, Washington, USA

I guess I'm a NeoCon - once liberal, now conservative. Even though I originally registered as a Democrat at age 18, I have never voted for a Democrat - ever. When the peanut farmer was voted into office, I quit the Dem party in disgust and registered as an Independent. Several years later, after voting for one Republican after another, I finally gave up and registered as a Republican. I am disgusted with the way my party threw away their years of being the majority party - but I'm excited now because change is coming!! McCain and the new hope of the conservative world, Sarah Palin, will be elected as President and Vice President on November 5th of this year! And they're going to kick some self-serving corrupt butts in the District of Columbia! On a more personal note, I am the husband of a wife who deserves far better and the proud father of a son who is serving in the Army and a beautiful, intelligent daughter who will be a senior this year in high school.

This book, Sometimes the Magic Works, offers his experience and thoughts on being a writer and becoming published. Highly recommended if you have any interest in writing, even if it's just understanding where the author is coming from and what the journey looks like.

Judge tosses lawsuit challenging Obama citizenship
I have serious doubts about the validity of this claim, but what shocks me is that it was thrown out of court because the man bringing the suit lacked standing?! How can that be? If there are allegations concerning Obama's eligibility, any citizen has valid reason to bring the suit. If there was concern over the timing of the hearing of the case, it should have been fast-tracked to get it out of the way well before election day. This really smells.

Not satisfied with destroying our economy, the criminals that are responsible (Congress) cast their covetous eyes on our 401(k) savings plans. It's just starting folks. If the Dems take power, our taxes will go up in every conceivable manner. Vote Republican. Throw the Dems out!

CNN uses blatantly out-of-context quote to attack Governor Palin.
The CNN reporter(?!) stated that National Review published the following statement: it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or -- or, well, all of the above. When asked who wrote the statement, he didn't know. Why not? Shouldn't a responsible reporter know such a basic fact when using the words to ambush a Vice-Presidential candidate. What a moron!

    youtube.com/watch [youtube.com/watch]

The actual Byron York quote from National Review follows:
Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or -- or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since she's taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well....

Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palin's lack of experience. Who wouldn't, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governor's office on her résumé? But a look at Palin's 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done -- and who didn't just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating.

Hamas Leader enthusiastic about Obama, Biden
JERUSALEM - In an exclusive interview tonight, a senior Hamas official heaped praise on Sen. Joe Biden, calling him a "very nice" person and a "great man" whose record "speaks volumes" and who can be counted on by the terror group to engage in the "right policy" toward the Middle East.

During the interview with WND's Aaron Klein and WABC Radio's John Batchelor, the Hamas figure also expressed hope regarding Sen. Barack Obama's "vision for change," announcing Hamas will send Obama a letter of congratulation "the moment he will win the election."

Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser in the Gaza Strip, called Biden a "very prominent figure when it comes to the politics of the region."

"I do believe Mr. Biden, he is well known, he is familiar with the situation here in Palestine. I think he is a very nice person. ... Yes, he is well aware of the political situation here in Palestine, and I do believe he might do something to change the bad image about America and enhance that image," Yousef said during the interview.

"His record speaks volumes. I do believe Mr. Biden is a great man. And we do count on him also as a good partner with Mr. Obama to put the right policy regarding how to handle the problems in the region."

So what does this tell us about Obama/Biden? Hamas terrorists favor them over McCain/Palin which is reason enough to vote for McCain/Palin.

Today was the 46th anniversary of the 1962 Columbus Day storm that killed 48 people and caused almost $6 billion dollars in damage - in 1962 dollars! I was eight years old. My mother, who had recently received her driver's license, decided to take me and my three younger siblings to Eugene, a 70 mile trip from our home in Roseburg. Talk about your memorable trips!

I called my Mom and talked to her about it today. She reminded me, also, of the August 1959 blast that destroyed much of downtown Roseburg. The picture below shows the aftermath. My father had just returned from his swing-shift job at the lumber mill about 30 minutes earlier and had gone to sleep. My young brother required my mother's attention, so she was in our bedroom when the blast shook the entire area (we lived several miles away, on Fair street). My father rushed into my bedroom and shouted, "What did you do, Shirley?!" Sadly, I slept through the entire event.

This is the face of vote fraud. Jennifer Brunner, Ohio Secretary of State, actively promotes fraud in Ohio. She 'interpreted' the law to allow people to simultaneously register and vote. She violates federal law by refusing to check voter registrations against other official records and purge the fraudulently registered records. She further violates the federal election law by refusing to allow the counties access to the databases so they can purge fraudulent registrations. I hope she is fully prosecuted for her violation of the federal election laws, but she is hoping that Obama will become president; he won't prosecute election fraud - he supports and encourages it.

No kidding! This isn't a blonde joke! A blonde woman claimed L'Oreal Inc. ruined her social life after one of its hair-dye products turned her into a brunette! She also said she had to wear hats and stay home because she suffered from headaches and anxiety, not to mention that she missed the attention blondes receive.
