  • Can Israel Survive Its Assault on Gaza? - TIME

    Rated Jan 09 2009 3 reviews israel time.com

Once again it seems like the media is listening to Hamas while completely ignoring the situation with Israel. The followers of Hamas believe that Israel should be "driven to the sea". They launched over 800 rocket attacks into Israel in 2008 alone. Israel has stood by and weathered these attacks while the media ignored them.
This military action is simply Israel going in to take out the rockets and decapitate Hamas. They aren't going to eliminate them -- not because they can't, but because the political price would be too high. There will come a day, though, where either the world is distracted by some other conflict, or the United States withdraws support for Israel, when Israel will figure they have nothing to lose and then you'll find out what they're really capable of doing. In the end, what drags out this war is the media's failure to accurately portray it. The international outcry against the tactics of Hamas never materializes and this failure will eventually force Israel to take real action to stop the attacks going on against it.

Nice. This site goes through Digg to find the most negatively rated comments and posts them. It's surprising, really. You'd *think* the rating system would mostly stomp out trolls and spam but a surprisingly large amount of negatively rated comments are simply people's opinions.

Downvoting (censoring) an opinion just because you don't agree with it is not in the spirit of what downvoting was supposed to be.

This guide works so well, I was able to use it to get around Boing Boing's own censorship of their own readers! Boing Boing banned my IP address because I disagreed with them in a comment but now I can still access the web site and post comments by using the software listed in this guide. Thanks, Boing Boing!

Yep, I just stumbled on this older link. Boing Boing champions free speech in public but then defaces and deletes criticism in their own space and bans anyone who dares to argue against the censorship taking place.

The only "sockpuppet" is the one Boing Boing presents to the public, hiding the true nature of the editors as mini-tyrants in their own right when given the ability.

Oh this is rich. Boing Boing, champions of free speech, banning their readers for complaining about Boing Boing's censorship of their readers! It looks like an out of control avalanche, folks! But you better read it now before the moderator shows up and deletes/mangles more posts.

Funny. Who knew the BB editors were just posers? You'd think they'd at least follow their own morals.
