He is well aware that he probably uses StumbleUpon for completely different reasons to anyone else: because the site has the unintended quality of being a brilliant way to keep track of - and remember the details of articles people read.

As a result of this key aim, his earlier reviews are often written for rather selfish reasons, and often take the form of dispassionate, drawn-out copies of large tracts of text, boring to the general reader. But he's hoping to analyse things a bit more now, and - where he does quote things - at least add a bit of structure to them. Without StumbleUpon - and the accessibility to old info it offers - he'd probably forget the details of anything he'd read within a few days.

He also doesn't know why he's talking about himself in the third person. It probably has something to do with that automatically-written line above the first paragraph - he supposes It'd seem rather odd shifting perspectives so he just stuck with the format StumbleUpon imposed. He thinks StumbleUpon should probably change the above line.
