The root cause is Banks just repackaging loans and selling them.They got their money and who cares is the house is over priced or that the borrower cant pay. Compare that to when the bank would underwrite the load, check you out seven ways to Sunday. They made damn sure the appraisal was not overvalued. This problem was 100% LENDER created. If your going to make loans with no credit check, verification of income, down payment, then you'll have people lined up for mile's to get loans.
