AmieStreet is a music download shop. Mostly indie music, but some big name indie if that makes sense. The music is DRM free, high quality encoded mp3s. The price is set by demand, but rarely gets to $10 an album. I've got some great stuff for about $3.00 an album.
I highly recommend St. Vincent, though it's only available from within the U.S due to licensing issues, so I didn't buy it from here.
One of the best things about this shop, is they give you a 'library' of all the tracks you've purchased and you can re-download them any time. This is the first music download shop I've been willing to buy anything.
From the page: "Arthur C. Clarke, the award-winning sci-fi writer and futurist most famous for his novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, died Wednesday in Sri Lanka. He was 90.
...
When asked by Wired in 1993 if he had put any thought into what he would want on his epitaph, Clarke said he had.
"Oh, yes," he said."I've often quoted it: 'He never grew up; but he never stopped growing.'""
