U S service members who died as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom... the faces of American soldiers who were forced to die for another country. (Emphasis on "another country): they didn't die to preserve freedom in the USA, or to protect the USA.As a child, I watched the news and what we, as Americans, did to our soldiers returning from Viet Nam.Love the war or hate it, I'll never do to my friends, neighbors, and colleagues what was done 30+ years ago. (I recently spent a few lucky minutes talking to a retired US soldier who was a veteran in the Viet Nam war. He couldn't wear his uniform in the airport; people against the war would throw things and spit on him.)If you support the troops as human beings, as individuals, I urge you to look at any soldier and see if there's something YOU can send. I'm not a member; I just try to send a package or two whenever I can.
