Note for Draconis: Separation of Church and State is not in the 'constitution' it is in one of the amendment to the constitution just like the right for woman to vote and our civil rights etc... The constitution is an imperfect document, just read the part about black people being worth 2/5 of a white person. The US constitution was meant as a living breathing document that could be re-interpreted according to its principals in light of new developments and challenges.
