I congratulate Angela Merkel on her win! One thing that concerns me is this part of the article regarding Turkey:

"The changeover may eventually mean a tougher approach to Turkey's European Union membership bid, which Merkel's party opposes while the Free Democrats appear noncommittal."

It would be a GRAVE mistake to deny Turkey membership into the European Union!! It is a pivotal muslim nation with strong strategic significance in the middle east. Most of the opposition comes from Armenian genocide by OTTOMAN Turkish forces during WWI. I repeat, the genocide would have been committed by OTTOMAN EMPIRE Turks against Armenians, not genocide being committed by forces under the secular republic which rules Turkey today!

Come on Europe, let bygones be bygones and allow Turkey entrance into the EU, or risk alienating an important ally! (How many people were killed by Britain and France and other European nations under past regimes in those countries? Millions! Hypocrites!)

I'm VERY glad to see an Iranian doing something constructive and interesting with their time rather than praying to Allah... Of course maybe he does that too.

As Laura Bush says, Saudi women (as in many other Islamic countries) may see the abaya as a part of their culture and want to cover themselves in one, BUT they don't also have the right to NOT wear one. I find it ironic that these two assholes (Chavez and Ahmadinejad) would be nothing if it wasn't for the riches brought to them by their oil, as they claim to oppose capitalism. They are using MONEY to influence other nations (especially Chavez).
