Every subculture thinks it's the most authentic. None more authentic is how every subculture defines itself in contrast to all the others. A spiky armband on a metalhead is just as hollow a symbol as when it's worn by someone you've deemed not authentic enough by your arbitrary standards. I get annoyed by preening insincere egomaniacs, but anyone who defines themselves exclusively by the symbols of their subculture is no better. 'Give it back'? Who says it's your subculture in the first place?

Oh great, more shouting on the internet. I do so love to stumble on flame wars. Are the people who complain you're not HARDCORE enough the same people who say you can't take music seriously if you actually quite like Phil Collins?

So many...references....It's the pictures that really make it though. I think my favourite might be the twelve rolls arranged in a variety of fashions.

But the pointy bit is the good bit. You take out the point, you lose all the precision. If it has a rounded edge, how do you know where it's making contact with whatever you're cutting? You wouldn't be able to cut out anything more complex than a straight line without having to take a few guess stabs first. Scalpels are supposed to be dangerous anyway, that's kind of the point.
