If you are not listening to music whilst you Stumble, you are operating only at half power.
[Attempted another dimension in Stumbling with audio and video links - but with the SU music player and YouTube, I'm now being left behind !]
A personal account of how Climate Change affects one community.
It will affect the surroundings for every one of us as well as producing a major rise in the cost of living, as commodity-growing areas are affected and scarcity raises the price of food, timber etc.
There are a number of renditions of Cantaloupe Island by Herbie Hancock on YT, but this is one of my favourites. Unless my eyes deceive me, the band is seriously heavyweight: Dave Holland on bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums and the utterly amazing Pat Metheny on guitar.
Age takes its toll, but not on this occasion, with CSNY sounding just like they did on 4-Way Street 30 years previously and Neil Young putting as much (if not more) passion into his singing and guitar work.
Renowned throughout the world as makers of some of the most remarkable nibs. Even their ordinary ones deliver an exceptionally smooth writing experience, particularly impressive with their fine and extra fine nibs (which can be scratchy in poorer makes).
Short and bittersweet.
One of my favourite months: warm days, a hint of autumn colours to come and the icy tentacles of winter writhing through the nights.
A perfect combination of the simpler 'chill' side of Bugge's music and a video by sayeyes. The video is perhaps the most perfect representation of sounds that I've seen produced graphically. Very clever.
Richard Bona is an amazing bass guitarist, composer and singer from Cameroon who plays in a wide variety of musical contexts, amongst others, with Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. Bobby McFerrin should need no introduction.
I have been a huge fan of improvised music for decades now - when you get master musicians together, magic happens !
Enjoy this magic.
As a teenager trying to learn the guitar, Bert Jansch was my first hero, his first album was played to death and this was one of my favourite songs (not surprising for a dissolute teenager).
Decades later I still can't play it (or emulate any other of Bert's guitar arrangements), but the piece still moves me.
